LA Times reports that the US government is buying a quarter million dollars worth of pork products from the huge North Carolina-based Smithfield Foods, as part of a program designed to alleviate financial woes caused by the current trade war with China. Socialism for agribusiness.
The funny part is that Smithfield is owned by the Chinese corporation WH Group. So they’re paying the Chinese to mitigate damage done by tariffs against China.
You can’t make this stuff up.
